USAA Named UTSA Athletics’ Official Military Appreciation Partner
Exciting new initiatives planned as part of partnership
SAN ANTONIO – San-Antonio based USAA, a longtime UTSA Athletics supporter, has expanded its relationship with the Roadrunners, becoming the program’s Official Military Appreciation Partner.
“We are grateful for USAA’s continued support of UTSA Athletics,” UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos said. “Recognizing currently serving service members and veterans is a top priority for us as San Antonio’s nationally recognized Division I athletics program here in Military City, USA. We look forward to this expanded partnership that supports both our nearly 400 student-athletes and the countless military families within our community.”
As part of this new partnership, USAA will sponsor every “Salute to Armed Forces” home game across all UTSA sports and provide enhanced experiences with some exciting activations being planned to honor and appreciate military families. In addition, there will be special moments throughout the athletic season that will serve to recognize those who have sacrificed for our nation.
“We are honored to deepen our relationship with UTSA Athletics as the Official Military Appreciation Partner of the Roadrunners,” said USAA Assistant Vice President of Brand Management Jen Escobar. “USAA is committed to recognizing and supporting the brave men and women who serve our nation, and this expanded partnership allows us to celebrate their dedication and sacrifice while contributing to the success of UTSA’s student-athletes right here in our hometown.”
USAA is also introducing its “Points for Patriots” program which will generate an annual donation to help support the UTSA Center for Service Connected Students which serves veterans on campus. The donation will be based on the total number of points scored by each UTSA athletic team across all sports.
“USAA and UTSA are only four miles apart on the map and even closer when it comes to appreciating those who protect our freedom and serve our country. UTSA is a leader in providing education and opportunities to active-duty service members, veterans, their spouses and children,” said UTSA Sports Properties General Manager Robert Stockhausen. “USAA serves those same wonderful people with the best in financial services and insurance. We are thrilled to team with USAA to honor those who give so selflessly to our country.”
USAA will also continue its support of the “Tickets for Troops” program, which will enable military members, their families and related organizations within San Antonio to enjoy UTSA Football “Salute to Armed Forces” games each season. In addition, active military and veterans as well as USAA members can access 15% off discounted tickets, presented by USAA, by visiting: https://utsa.spinzo.com/?group=usaa
