USAA Announces New Chief Compliance Officer

SAN ANTONIO – (October 20, 2021) USAA announced today that Celie Niehaus has joined the company as senior vice president and chief compliance officer, leading its enterprise compliance team. She is responsible for defining and executing USAA’s enterprise-wide strategy for managing compliance risk.

Prior to joining USAA, Niehaus was the chief compliance officer (CCO) for BBVA USA where she led oversight of compliance activities for Retail Banking, Commercial Banking and Wealth, Corporate and Investment Banking, Treasury and Digital businesses. Prior to joining BBVA in May 2018, she served as the CCO for Capital One Retail and Direct Bank and Enterprise Services, and was also the company’s chief privacy officer. Earlier in her career, she held positions at E*TRADE Financial and Bank One.

Niehaus is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and American Bankers Association Graduate Compliance Schools. She is further accredited as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager.
