USAA President & CEO Juan C. Andrade Elected to Full Three-Year Term on American Red Cross Board of Governors
Andrade, who joined the Board in February 2026 to fill a vacancy, will continue supporting the organization’s mission to strengthen military family resilience and help communities prepare for and recover from disasters
For more than a decade, USAA and the American Red Cross have worked together to support military families and communities before, during and after times of crisis. That relationship is grounded in a shared commitment to helping people prepare for and recover from life’s most difficult moments.
The next chapter of that partnership begins today with the election of USAA President & CEO Juan C. Andrade to a full three-year term on the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross during the organization’s June 23 Annual Meeting. Andrade joins leaders from across the public and private sectors to help guide one of the nation’s most trusted humanitarian organizations.
“This is truly an honor because the mission of the American Red Cross aligns closely with our own,” said Juan C. Andrade, President & CEO of USAA. “For more than a century, USAA has served those who serve our nation. Together with the Red Cross, we have an opportunity to continue strengthening military family resilience, helping communities prepare for disasters and supporting people when they need us most. Partnerships like this help turn shared values into action.”
The American Red Cross serves communities every day through disaster response, emergency preparedness, blood collection and support for military members, veterans and their families – work that closely aligns with USAA’s mission of serving those who serve.
“Juan understands the unique needs of military families and brings a deep commitment to service,” said Cliff Holtz, CEO, American Red Cross. “USAA has been a valued partner for many years, and we are grateful for Juan’s leadership and perspective as we continue working together to strengthen preparedness and support communities in times of need.”
The election comes as military families and communities place increasing focus on disaster preparedness and resilience. The financial impact of a catastrophe can be significant, making preparedness an important part of long-term financial security and well-being.
USAA and the American Red Cross are exploring opportunities to strengthen support for military families living in disaster-prone communities. Those efforts include disaster financial assistance, preparedness education and programs designed to help families recover faster and build long-term resilience.
These efforts build on the momentum of Honor Through Action, USAA’s $500 million commitment to advancing military family well-being. Through Honor Through Action, USAA works alongside nonprofit and corporate partners to drive measurable progress in areas that matter most to veterans and their families.
Over the years, USAA teammates also have supported the American Red Cross through volunteering and charitable giving, helping communities respond and recover when disasters occur. In the past year alone, more than 700 USAA employees volunteered in support of American Red Cross efforts.
As severe weather events continue to impact military families and communities across the country, USAA and the American Red Cross share a belief that resilience begins long before disaster strikes.
By strengthening partnerships, investing in preparedness and standing alongside those who serve, both organizations are helping military families and communities face the future with greater confidence and security.
